A high level overview of the non-code deliverables, with a few
milestones that (I hope) help us focus. Let me know if the dates/plan
seem out of whack.
1. Documentation that helps new users get started:
- Screencasts
- Get Started Guide
Full draft due: *Aug 13*
Completed: *Aug 20*
We'd like to have a full draft of this ready before we do a testing
session with people who share office space with us. We're currently
planning that session for the week of Aug 13. This session will help us
debug/improve the documentation, as well as give us perspective on
stability (for Preview) and barriers to adoption (for 0.7.x).
2. Documentation that is sort of more about OSAF than Preview per se.
- OSAF FAQ
- Vision Document
- OSAF site pushed out
Full draft due: *Aug 13*
Completed: *Aug 20*
We could change these deadlines, but I'd be happier getting these done.
I'm the one blocking progress on them.
3. Documentation about the Product.
- Feature List
- Product FAQ
Full draft due: *Aug 13*
Completed: *Aug 20*
These are blocking on Ted and Jared's input about Server and Hub (info
that Mimi doesn't have). Again, we could adjust these deadlines, but
I'll propose another week for getting the draft out.
4. Documentation about the Release.
- Known Issues (server, hub and desktop)
- Release Notes (server, desktop)
Full draft due: *Aug 20*
Completed: *Aug 27*
These need to be adjusted up to the last minute, which is why I moved
the deadline to be later. On the other hand, perhaps we require these to
be done to declare it a release and make the announcements? Open to
feedback on these dates.
5. Hub
- Privacy Policy
- Terms of Service
- NOC Run Book
- Hub branding tasks
Dates?
6. Wiki other
I'm going with "good enough" for Preview for the rest, so I'm not
tracking the other wiki odds and ends as carefully. We do have a list of
bugs tracking smaller items, and wiki gardening is appreciated. I don't
have any separate milestones listed for the wiki odds and ends though.
With the exception of announcements and blog posts, anything not
mentioned here I am not tracking with an eagle eye, so speak up if
something is missing.
Cheers,
Katie
