Ben,

On acronyms: It's a bad habit, I know. But, like an old dog learning to sit,
I'm past changing and old persons have their ways, you know -- like feeding
the local Oxyurinae.

On "yes, it's described in the wiki.": I had to digg, but I stand corrected
at http://simile.mit.edu/wiki2/Simile_Testing_Server

On the rest: The message is pretty clear. As a n00b, I think I'll stick to
getting LW-SB running on my machines, for now. But, I'm not too happy about
Javascript, though. Ever seen Ruby on Rails, probably very neat in
multicode-dependable projects as those of the SDT -- er, The SIMILE Project
and its members and/of The MIT digital libraries group.

thanks

Possibly, my desire was to pass on an invitation to discussion of how open
source QA processes compare and contrast to commercial ones.

I have no idea what SDT-end-user means, but I think the answer is nope. We
don't know that; at least not in a formal sense. Thanks for doing some of
that testing.

yes, it's described in the wiki. You wouldn't happen to know an easy way to
do lite weight port forwarding in mac os x client in a manner that will
survive reboots and not create a security issue. In the meanwhile everybody
has access to assorted platforms.

ah

Did i mention we don't "think in those terms?" But sure and I've got near
neighbors here who use it that way. This project doesn't though. Because
we share our Nagios installation with those folks it's not public, which is
a bummer.

If you'd like to gin up some nagios plug-ins to monitor some of the SIMILE
demos and web sites and submit them I'd be surprised if we didn't add them
to our Nagios setup. We'd be extra double appreciative of tests that do
good coverage of javascript rich examples, using selenium preferably.
