Hello,

I'm an academic without much programming background trying to use Timeline for
a web-publication project. I am wondering whether there is a relatively simple
way to force the behavior of specific events when they display in Timeline. In
particular, I would like to

1) determine the order in which overlapping or neighboring events display (top
to bottom); at present this appears to be random;

2) force the event label to move onto the duration marker as soon as the
duration is long enough to hold the text;

3) force some events which follow each other to line up horizontally (so that
their duration bars are on the same horizontal line); I would like to
distinguish the durations by using alternating colours, rather than by having
the bars offset.

I don't know how feasible all of this is, but it would allow me to display my
information in the timeline more densely and rationally.

Thanks,

Ian
