Scott,

Thanks for all of your answers. The behaviour I was looking for was that the timeline would center on the current date and time upon loading the page.

As I see it right now, it centers on the last entry.

Thanks,

Florian

Hi Florian,

The answers you received from Saad and David refer to setting the
initial view of the timeline. In the event that you were thinking
along slightly different lines (as I was when I wrote this code),
here's how to re-center the timeline to the current date after you've
moved it around a bit:

<A HREF="#" onClick='aDate = new Date(); tl.getBand
(0).setCenterVisibleDate(aDate);'>Center on Today</A>

If you put this link on the page with the timeline, then after a user
has moved through the timeline a few years / decades / millennia,
they can click on the link at any time and have the timeline re-
center on todays date. Using the code Saad gave as a jumping off
point, you could make it so that this link jumped you to any
arbitrary date that is of significance to your timeline.

Like I said, I don't know if this was the direction you were heading,
but I thought I would post it anyhow i case it helps.

Scott
