Hi Andy,
I've just committed a fix that will let you specify any arbitrary
expression for retrieving event labels. You need to link against the
development version of the API:

type="text/javascript"></script>
And then in your timeline div, add an attribute like this:
ex:eventLabel=".timelinelabel"
