Oh I see now. Unfortunately you can't do that right now.
So, let's imagine a very complex case here. Sorry, I have to change the
topic as I can't think of complex cases regarding publishing. Let's say
for a crime investigation there are a lot of pieces of evidence
collected from several suspects, who are known to be at some various
places at some points in time. The data would look something like this:
{ items: [
{ label: "Jacket with trace of alumninum",
type: "Evidence Piece",
belongsTo: "John Doe"
},
{ label: "Stationery with unique watermark",
type: "Evidence Piece",
belongsTo: "John Doe"
},
...
{ label: "John Doe",
type: "Suspect",
presence: [ "Presence #389", "Presence #190", "Presence #134" ]
},
...
{ label: "Presence #389",
start: "2007-04-08T09:15:00Z",
end: "2007-04-08T10:20:00Z",
location: "Harvard Campus",
witness: "The gardener"
},
...
]
}
Say the whole exhibit is displaying pieces of evidence and you can
filter by features of the evidence, but we want each event on the
timeline to be labeled by the name of the suspect, and each event's
start and end times to be of the "presence" of the suspect. There can be
several events for the same suspect, as his presence at various places
and times might have been documented. So, by the 2.0 branch's way of
specifying things, this is how the timeline can be configured:
<div ex:role="view" ex:viewClass="Timeline"
ex:plot=".belongsTo"
ex:proxy=".presence"
ex:start=".start"
ex:end=".end"></div>
(ex:plot is not yet supported.) So, there will be 3 events on the
timeline for John Doe, and clicking on anyone of them would show the 2
pieces of evidence that belong to him. Is that generic enough?
