Simile.mit.edu was inaccessible in a power failure on campus this morning. We learned that one of the numerous components involved was not as "uninterruptible" as we expected. In this case it was an upstream component in our networking, but next time it will be something else :).
This seems like a good chance to try and pin down exactly what we aspire to for reliability.
