Having this integrated into Exhibit would be nice so that this feature would have the same look and feel as the rest of the timeline. For now though, we have a simple form below the timeline that allows the user to put in a specific time and then we use javascript to generate a date object (aDate) from this value and call:

tl.getBand(0).setCenterVisibleDate(aDate);

Your timeline name and band may vary, but it gets the job done.

PS. Yes, a user can enter any date and jump there, even if there is no data available for that portion of the timeline. Some day I'll add range checking to limit the user to the interesting areas.

That's a good idea! No, it's not there yet, but we should eventually add it.

Exhibit is brilliant, but for longer timelines that the Simile
examples it needs a date panel in which one can insert a year and
click Go. Scrolling a vertical display or dragging a
horizontal timeline would be too slow.

Is there already a facility for a date panel? Or is it planned?

Meanwhile, well done the team.
