Hello, I'm glad you like it! You mention Babel, but then talk about
the little scissors, as well as "10 publications", so I think you
might mean Exhibit? Babel converts data into the JSON format, and
then Exhibit is the tool used to display it all.
I've numbered your issues below.
1) Do you want the {group as sorted} not to show up? What would you
like to happen?
2) You can use CSS to keep this from showing up. Its class is
"exhibit-views-header", so you could add the following to your page
header:
<style>
div.exhibit-views-header {
display: none;
}
</style>
You can, of course, just add that to a stylesheet if you already have
one.
3) I'm not sure about this one. Anyone else?
4) I know we would love to have someone translate the software into
French. Sadly, I don't know much about it. Maybe someone else on the
list can help?
To checkout Exhibit from svn, it depends which version you want. I
would recommend version 2.0. To get that you would use the following
command:
svn checkout http://simile.mit.edu/repository/exhibit/branches/2.0/
exhibit
This will get all the source code for exhibit 2.0 and put it in a
folder called exhibit on your hard drive. "exhibit" will be created
in whichever folder you run the command from.

I am using babel for a couple of days and I find it very very
interesting.
However there are a few things that I was not able to change and that
bother me :
(1) - If we play with the button "group as sorted" it changes the
title of
the webpage into <title>Publication {group as sorted} - mozilla
firefox
</title>
(2) - I would like to be able to get off the first line: "10
publications",
also the number of publications after the date (or the pub-type), and
the sentence "sorted by: year; then by... grouped as sorted",
(3) - I would like to get off the scissors (I know this has been
discussed),
(4) - How can we obtain the source code? I guess a svn would do the
job but
I would need the exact command line (under linux). I would like to
translate the software in French (as you probably notice I am not
English native).
Thank you very much.
