A default selection is easy. In the facet tag, simply use
ex:selection="Whatever". So for example:
<div ex:role="facet" ex:expression=".state" ex:facetLabel="State"
ex:selection="Massachusetts"></div>
As for the exporters -- I'm not so sure about that. Maybe someone
else can help out here?

working at the problem and have come up with a design to solve this
problem.Our solution involves a 'server side' component which gets
activated by a simple tag.This would be useful for "online"
applications.
We would love to contribute to exhibit and make it available to a
wider audience. Howerver, if anyone has any alternate solution we
would very much be interested in discussing it and working at
the same.
