Hi Terry:

Sorry for the late reply - I'm just returning from an out-of-town
conference.

A few general remarks about your question: first, it isn't necessary to
use the proxying scheme - it was documented this way in case you had an
existing, Apache front-ended, DSpace, together with a Longwell server on
a different host. In this case, the easiest way to keep all the requests
in the same URL space (e.g.) - http://mydspace.org/dwell - would involve
proxying out 'http://mydspace.org/dwell/proxy' to the other server.

I didn't document all the proxy statements because this is Apache httpd
configuration, and may vary with your version of Apache, etc. But if you
can supply these details, we can probably advise.

However, if you are setting up the whole thing from scratch (i.e. DSpace
and Longwell) you could run them in the same servlet container (e.g.
Tomcat), and not worry about proxying at all. It would just be a matter
of editing the jsp page noted, and making sure that the path referenced
in the jsp page mapped to the servlet path configured in Tomcat for
Longwell

Does this help clarify?

Richard
