I'd been looking over the code for that too and haven't found anything. I was about to add a new attribute ex:uriquery whose attribute would be the query string variable from which to obtain the value. ie. instead of the current ex:query="test" I would have ex:uriquery="srch" and the text search facet would take, for example, an initial value of "Brian" from the url test.com/search.html?srch=Brian
