That is indeed a bug and thanks for pointing it out! I have not been 
able to track it down yet. I'll let you know when I fix it.

You can use the ISO 8601 date/time format to do this:
   
    <data date-time-format="iso8601">
       <event start="2007-07-04T05:32:50.130Z" ...>...</event>
       ...
    </data>
