On a quick glance this looks neat.  I'll point out, though, that if you 
are already serving up the data as json, you can get a richer 
presentation of it using exhibit, which embeds timeline but also a 
number of other interesting visualizations (such as google maps) and 
offers faceted browsing on the items in your timeline.  see
