I like the way the timeline is used as a facet for deciding what is 
shown on the map.
On the other hand, it would be nice to color (and filter) map points on 
attributes of the data, as exhibit does, rather than be limited to 
coloring based on source file.
Perhaps it is worth thinking about how to use exhibit as a back-end (to 
make it easy to support such filtering) for more flexible/general 
purpose front-ends.
