Hello,
(BTW, Thanks, David, for your responsiveness, and as it seems
you like suggestions/requests, here is another one:)
Exhibit provides us with a great facility to code the color
of markers:
<span ex:color="white" ex:case="mixed">Mixed categories</span>
But regarding the "mixed" case, I suggest to add some
configurabilty, because the "mixed" case may represent in fact
several different situations, and it is not so informative to show these
situations with the same unique visual representation.
Practical exemple: I use Simile Exhibit to let users explore
trouble tickets. Among their characteristics, these tickets have
a "severity", which may have one of the 4 values "minor", "medium",
"major" and "alert". Map markers for alerts are color-coded red, etc.
At a single location on the map, there may be several trouble tickets,
so in this case we are in the "mixed" case, that I color-code in
a neutral color, say grey.
A location with 2 alerts and 1 minor, is represented the same grey way
as another location with only 3 minors and 1 medium, but it is evident
these are two situations very different.
...So I would like to have a way to code a marker that would visually
express things like "this is a mixed case, yes, but this one includes
alerts", and like "this is a mixed case, and it does not include alerts".
Perhaps the marker could be decorated with multiple colors?
Perhaps this could be a kind of "pie chart" with colors
representing in quality and quantity the kinds of items there
is at this place?
Thanks
