Hi Graham,

I've used this feature to mark the end of a decorator so it is painted a
different colour up to todays date. My timeline shows company history so the
first decorator has a light blue background for the original company and the
second decorator has a light green background (up to today) for the current
company. Same type of idea as yours but in the decorator area.

// Set up a variable with todays date so it can be used later on
  var dt = new Date(); // today
  var todayis = Timeline.DateTime.parseGregorianDateTime(dt.toUTCString());

  // This next section is used to add the coloured bands highlighting
  // Riverina Stock Feeds (in light blue) and Riverina Australia (in
  // light green). If it is ommitted then the whole band is plain white.
  // Other colours are "#FFC080", kakky brown
  //                   "#99FF99",    light green

  bandInfos[0].decorators = [
  // Riverina Stock Feeds section is light blue
    new Timeline.SpanHighlightDecorator({
        startDate:  "Sat Jan 01 1927 00:00:00 GMT-0000",
        endDate:    "Thu Dec 31 1998 23:59:00 GMT-0000",
        color:      "#66CCFF",
        opacity:    20,
        startLabel: "Riverina Stock Feeds Pty Ltd",
        endLabel:   "",
        theme:      mytheme
        }),

  // Riverina Australia section is light green
    new Timeline.SpanHighlightDecorator({
        startDate:  "Fri Jan 01 1999 00:00:00 GMT-0000",
        endDate:    todayis,
        color:      "#33CC99",
        opacity:    20,
        startLabel: "",
        endLabel:   "Riverina (Australia) Pty Ltd",
        theme:      mytheme
        })
  ];

What I was interested in finding out is how to indicate an event (in your
XML data) that is either starting from the 'current date' or ending on the
'current date'.
Has anyone got any ideas for that?

It's an amazing tool - I've built a couple of nice looking timelines and
yesterday started on my first Exhibit (using Brian Croxhall's Google Docs
publishing example) as a base. Very cool indeed!

Cheers
Peter

Not sure if by "current date" you meant the date/time that it is right now
or where you are currently (date/time) in relation to the timeline bands.

Here is a way to center the timeline on the current date/time.:
<script type="javascript" >
  var centerOn = new Date();
  var bandInfos = [
    Timeline.createBandInfo({
        date:      centerOn,
...
...
...
....
</script>

Hi Team,

I have been using your Timeline Generator tool, have one word for it -
Amazing.

We find that the tool is highly configurable and very robust. One feature
that we need the most is the current date indicator. Can you please help us
implementing this feature?
