Since you asked about a "match" attribute on xsl:when, you must be
using a version of IE that has an obsolete XSLT dialect. The XSLT
processor built in there is MSXML and there is information at
http://www.netcrucible.com/xslt/msxml-faq.htm
that describes the old and new versions.
