I feel the same way for the developers' lists. Much as I'd like to say the same for the users' lists, I'm not sure that's a reasonable assumption. I agree that posting a mailto: link may be excessive and spam-prone. The rest -- providing a real list name and separately telling folks to add the @apache.org suffix -- doesn't strike me as unreasonable.
