One wonders, however, whether the Board will then require the XML Graphics subprojects to become TLPs. One wonders, also, whether the Board will be able to develop solutions to the licensing difficulties that have plagued both Batik and FOP. It seems to me that mixed-licence environments are a fact of Open Source life, and the sooner we develop mechanisms for dealing with this, the better.

You're right, but I don't think it's necessary in this particular case, at least not from my side. I've been quite clear (I hope) about my vision for XML Graphics, at least I've expressed that on multiple occasions within the FOP community. I can't tell off-hand how much of this is common knowledge in Batik-land but most of it should have come over in my endeavour after the XML Graphics project.
If anyone feels, I should write about my vision for XML Graphics some more, please tell me. I'd gladly do that. Vision is one thing, plans another. Due to my limited time I can't make big plans, only hope my colleagues share my vision and help work towards it.

Haha ... Laughing. :-)
Seriously folks - some sort of statement of vision does help :-) this is not a beaty contest or who has bought the most people beer in the past.
Some people call the ASF a 'meritocracy' - so give us the merits of your vision and plans :-)
