The updates to SAX are also integrated. None of the interfaces for all this stuff are yet in place--awaiting the rest of JAXP 1.3 :)--so that's perhaps why they haven't surfaced to the degree they could have. The rest of JAXP 1.3 comprises an XPath API, an API for validating DOM trees, SAX streams and grammar caching, and an API to complete Java's datatype mapping to XML Schema. I'll bet there are changes alsewhere in support of the implementation of these new API's, but it's implementations of these three new packages of interfaces that will be of most interest here.
