I found somewhere an effort (I believe within the Apache umbrella) to produce a specification that would allow developers to write programs in XML that could later be "compiled" into language specific code. Does anyone know the name of it?
XSP falls into that description; supports compilation into Java, Javascript, and Python. See [1].
