Hi all, I contributed two changes to XML Graphics Commons through GitHub pull requests. Both are now in main, but the commits name a committer as the author, and my name appears only in the commit message:
- PR #32, XGC-148 "Drop commons-io dependency", landed as 22e04a9b0a on 2025-11-11. The PR was closed without a merge. https://github.com/apache/xmlgraphics-commons/pull/32 https://github.com/apache/xmlgraphics-commons/commit/22e04a9b0a5018081ebebef09b7c8234e8927e75 - PR #33, "Skip maven-dependency-submission and SonarCloud Analysis for PR CI checks", landed as cd7b9760d9 on the same day. The PR is still open. https://github.com/apache/xmlgraphics-commons/pull/33 In both cases the commit diff matches the pull request line for line. GitHub builds the contributors list and profile activity from the commit's Author field, so these contributions are not attributed to me anywhere on GitHub. I asked about this in PR #32 on 2026-07-22 and have not had a reply, so I am raising it on the list. Could a committer revert 22e04a9b0a and cd7b9760d9 and then merge both pull requests with the Squash button? A squash merge records the pull request author as the commit author. Amending the existing commits is not an option, because .asf.yaml blocks force pushes to main. For future contributions, merging with the button, or applying the change with "git am" or "git cherry-pick", keeps the original author. The committer is still recorded as the committer.
