I recently read an announcement for PyXB. It looks like a very serious and well-done effort:
http://pyxb.sourceforge.net/ Here is a link to an announcement: http://www.nabble.com/Python-Bindings-to-XML-Schema-system-released-td24130556.html I believe that PyXB fills some of the same needs as generateDS.py. As with any two comparable products, it's likely that some things are easier in one and some in the other. Also, it may be one does some things for you that the other does not. For example, I believe I've read that code generated by PyXB does some validation that is not done by code generated by generateDS.py. If anyone has experience with PyXB, I'd be interested in reading some notes comparing PyXB and generateDS.py. And, I'm sure that would be helpful to others on the list who are By the way, those of you who are interested in comparable products, but who are willing to use Jython rather than Python may want to look at: - XMLBeans: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/XMLBeans - JAXB: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/JAXB I used XMLBeans with Jython for a small project. It seemed very analogous to generateDS.py. After a bit of study, the code it generated seemed quite easy to follow. I've no experience with JAXB. - Dave -- Dave Kuhlman http://www.rexx.com/~dkuhlman ------------------------------------------------------------------------------ Enter the BlackBerry Developer Challenge This is your chance to win up to $100,000 in prizes!
