Hmmm. I've never seen that one before. However, I did a Web
search and found these two links that look relevant:

So, it looks like you should try installing the python-dev package.
I would not have guessed that you need the Python development
package in order to do a standard install, but (1) that's not
something I understand, and (2) perhaps there is something in the
specific to the generateDS.py installation that triggers this.
I looked, just now, at generateDS.py's setup.py, and I don't see
anything very special. But, who knows ... ?
Please let me know if installing python-dev fixes this problem for
you.
