I'm making some progress on this.  Specifically, I'm making
changes that generate code so that if element/type A
is a restriction of (base) element/type B, then  class A will handle 
attributes defined in type A as well as attributes defined in type B
(and itssuperclasses), but will *not* handle inherited element
content.

Please let me know if you think I'm not on the correct
track with this.

I've run into a couple of problems, but they seem solvable
with a bit of work.  I'm hoping to have something that
we can try out next week sometime.

I'll keep you up-to-date.
