Hi all,

I had also thought about the use of latitude and longitude coordinates.
I had this in mind for the documentation of cemetaries. Knowing the
location and being able to find cemetaries is an ongoing problem. Some
small family cemetaries, and even larger ones, get replaced with
building projects of one sort or another. Others are just lost in the
weeds and overgrowth.

If one could define the location with lat and long, then you could at
least have an idea where to look. These days you can find this on
computer maps, and that can help you know where to look. Also, you can
get a GPS unit for a couple of hundred dollars that can help you find
and document the location of cemetaries.

I had not thought of it for other purposes, but I guess it could also be
used to locate old family homesteads and the like.

David
