This discussion list has been very quit for a long time, so I hope some
of you
are still interested in genes.
I have done lots of programming, and I think that we can almost publish
a version 0.1. Current features are: reading a gedcom file (or at least
part of it)
It is possible to navigate in the list of persons (select and view
buttons),
and it can display a person and an event. It also supports
internationalization,
but the only languages that are there are English and Dutch. So if you
can
add your .po file into cvs !
I have updated my "proposal for the genes home page", and it has some
screen shots too.

I hope that Sean is still alive, so that we can update our genes home
page...
Download the developers version, compile and give it a try.
If something doesn't work, send me a mail and I'll try to fix it.
