I have not tried this, but it should work.
Firstly, set-up Direct Cable Connection on the Win98 machine to accept
PPP connections over serial.
Now, from Genesis prefs, select Interfaces. Create a new interface
and give it a name. Fill out the IP address and other boxes as you
would with Miami. In the Sana-II page, select PPP. In the modem
page, select use no modem. On the PPP page, select the options you
need. Services and events can be left unchanged. On the Resolv page,
fill out the boxes as you would with Miami. Now click ok. Now save
the genesis set-up.
Now go back to Genesis, and click connect where you should now be able
to connect to your Win98 machine.
You'll need a recent version of Genesis, as the use no modem option is
a recent addition.
