Hi,

Why does changing ANY setting in Genesis prefs result in having to disconnect
to
implement the change? Obviously some setting changes effect the method of
connection etc. but why for things like time limits. E.g. I started something
downloading and left it to go overnight but knew it would only take a couple of
hours so I set the maximum time connected option to 2 hours so it would
disconnect later on in the night instead of staying online and idling. Because
Genesis said I had to go offline to make the changes I decided I wouldn't
bother as my modems speaker is quite loud and I didn't want to have to dial
again and irritate my flatmates at that time of night. So how about modifying
Genesis so that pref changes can be implemented without going offline if
they're not going to effect the method of connection?

In fact that's another thing - according to my modem's manual the command L1
sets the speaker volume to low, but where in Genesis do I put this?? I have
tried as part of the reset command but it just gives an error.

How about the option to pop up Genesis's window if there is a passive offline?
At the moment the only thing that clues me in to the fact that I've been
disconnected is that after a while nothing is happening on all my net apps, and
stricq goes offline when it times out. I
intend to write an Arexx script to do this sometime but haven't gotten around
to it yet.

Thanks,
