I have had a slightly similar problem. I'm connected to the university
Ethernet network with Ariadne, and everytime I try to go online with
Genesis, it tells me 'Can't put interface offline' or something like
that, I forget the exact phrasing since I gave up long ago and haven't
bothered with it anymore. So now I just keep using the AmiTCP demo
version. I would prefer it that way, too, if it wasn't for the damned
nag requester that I have to close before it goes online.
I tried just replacing the demo version kernel with the one in the
Genesis package to get rid of the demo limitations, but it didn't work
for some reason.
Good luck getting an answer, I tried getting help to that problem
several times on this mailing list and comp.sys.amiga.* with not a
single reply ever. :) So now you're already one up on me. ;)
