That looks weird :)
I've invoked a google query on 52:54:00:12:34:56, and it turned out,
that this is a default MAC address qemu uses when nothing else has
been defined.
I don't really want to wander from the subject, but perhaps you
could try out a newer/ different qemu version since I've experienced
that many versions have more or less small quirks.
In my setup, I used 0.11.50 which worked more or less well, git
should be at 0.12.something meanwhile.
