Hi,
By reading Documentation/init.txt I realized I was missing the root=/dev/ram0.
That solved the problem.
In the original run script example, it is there in the cmdline.
I am quite sure I had tested before with that boot option.
The only difference is that I managed to reduce the image now down to 89M.
Nevertheless, I appreciate the help and apologize for any inconvenience.

Initrd images are usually (if not always) cpio archives without gzip
compression.

The same error saw on QEMU alone appears in the cli_monitor->seoul VM window.
I will try to build the kernel.
