Hello again,

The Ensembl track is not displayed because the search term used is not
contained within the Ensembl track tables (therefore, the Ensembl track is not
searched). It is displayed in the browser viewer only when the Ensembl track is
set to something other than "hide" and there is data that maps to the same
genomic position as the original search results.

To map from Ensembl to UCSC Genes, use the knownToEnsembl table in the Table
browser - the link is the UCSC Genes transcript ID. Open up this up in the
Table browser to view the full schema and how the data is linked by the common
key. Please note that a search by a UCSC Genes' transcriptID also does not
bring up an intermediate page either, the result is a direct link into the
Browser display (where again, overlapping Ensembl track data will display if
not hidden).

To bring up an Ensembl result directly, search by the transcriptID. An example
of this is: ENSMUST00000081945

I will pass your comments on to the development team for consideration in
future design planning.

Thanks,
Jennifer
