Hi Valeria, There is cross-referencing between genes that can influence results when searching by gene identifiers. Also, each gene may have several transcripts associated. Both can inflate the results.
But your particular result, going from 80 to 6,000, seems really extreme. Would you like to send me the list of identifiers and the exact settings you used in the Table browser for me to test? You can just paste the info in an email and send to me directly. I will not post your query to the list. I will duplicate your query and provide feedback. Hard to tell if it is a query problem or a data problem without some testing.
