Dear Jingyuan,

The bin field is used to speed up our queries.

Unfortunately the SNP tracks don't contain haplotype information. A track that
may interest you is the HapMap SNPs Track on hg18. If this track doesn't
provide the information that you are interested in, please take a look at
HapMap site: http://hapmap.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/

If you have further questions, feel free to contact the mailing list.

Subject: [Genome] question about the SNP bin

Dear UCSC genome browser,

I recently downloaded the information for SNPs. I used the Table browser to do
that. In the output format, I see one field called "bin". The SNPs are grouped.
It is very nice and I do want to group the SNPs by the hyplotypes. However, I
could not find any document or reference how the SNPs are binned.

Can you provide me more detailed information about the methods for binning.

Best regards

Jingyuan
