Dear UCSC support, I have recently changed from BED to bigBed tracks for uploading and viewing my next generation sequencing data in the UCSC genome browser. In principle, the bigBed format is nice and usable similar to the BED format.
Unfortunately, there is one annoying restriction when viewing bigBed tracks, which impairs my work quite a bit: It seems that the browser will only display a maximum of 250 features in 'squish' view mode. As soon as more features are inside the viewed genomic region, the display changes into 'dense' mode. In this view mode, not much information can be be obtained from the track. Is there a possibility to raise this maximum number of displayed features in 'squish' view mode to a much higher number, e.g. 2500 or more? I noticed that other users experience the same problem, e.g. http://www.mail-archive.com/[email protected]/msg01178.html Thank you for your help, Hans-Jörg Warnatz ______________________________________________ Dr. Hans-Jörg Warnatz Gene Expression and Regulation Group Dept.
