Good Morning Davide:

I noticed your query to the galaxy email list. Something about this
doesn't make any sense. If you can't specify track parameters from
galaxy then you would only be able to make one track from galaxy
and never more than one together.

You are correct, you can not change track names after the track is
loaded into UCSC. I suspect you will get an answer from galaxy about
how to manage track parameters from there.

Subject: [Genome] Controlling a remote custom track

Hi all, I have a question about custom tracks.
I have a track on a specific server which can be seen through http. I can load
that track to the genome browser using the hgt.customText facility (actually
I'm doing this automatically with galaxy). If the track contains only data and
no track description, the GB autmatically sets the track name and description
to "User track". Unfortunately I cannot edit the track name in "Manage custom
tracks" pages, the text field is gray and not editable. Since I cannot modify
the original BED (and add the track definition line "track type=bed name=foo"
there), is there any other way to modify the track name, possibly at loading
time (I was thinking about another undocumented hgt.customSomething CGI
variable...)?
Thanks
