Hello, I am trying to map probes from Illumina Human Ref8 v3.0 chips to the Mar 2006 hg18 build. The Illumina probe sequence are derived from Build 36.2, release 22 while the hg18 is a build 36.1. I am not sure if there are significant differences between the two versions but using the ILMN probe ILMN_1762231 that has the coordinates chr10:31856403-31856452 gave a hg18 sequence that is shifted by 6 bp from the probe sequence. A random search for other probes showed exact matches between the two versions. I wanted to know if the mismatch might be systemic based on version differences. Any help would be greatly appreciated.
