Hello Jason,

In addition to what Hiram suggests, you could also create a Session with your 
custom track and any other relevant browser tracks you care to turn on.  

To do this, click on the "Session" link on the blue bar on the top of the 
browser page to save the settings you currently have displayed:

http://genome.ucsc.edu/cgi-bin/hgSession
