Hello Jennifer,

Here is the way to retrieve this data.  Use the Table Browser as follows:

clade: mammal; genome: rat; assembly: Nov.2004; group: Genes and Gene 
Prediction Tracks; track: RefSeq Genes; table: refGene; region: genome; output 
format: "selected fields from primary and related tables".  Click "get output". 
 Check the box next to rn4.kgXref and then click to allow selection from 
selected tables.  Now you may choose the fields from rn4.refGene along with 
fields from rn4.kgXref.  The field you are looking for is called geneSymbol, so 
check the box next to that along with which ever other fields you like. 

Finally, click "get output" again.
