Hi Shelley, I am referring you to the following web pages:
http://compbio.soe.ucsc.edu/SAM_T08/faq.html http://compbio.soe.ucsc.edu/sam.html Hopefully they can answer some or all of your questions on SAM T08. Fan. -----Original Message----- From: [email protected] [mailto:[email protected]] On Behalf Of Shelley Sent: Friday, August 21, 2009 12:06 PM To: [email protected] Subject: [Genome] SAM T-08 structure predictions I was hoping to find out a little bit more on how the structural models in the SAM T08 server are constructed. I apologize in advance that I don't know much about Bioinformatics and structural prediction programs so hopefully I can get my questions across clearly. I was wondering about how the 3D models are constructed. I would like to know if they are created off of the HMM models to which they are most closely related (i.e. the closest PDB match) or if they are predicted independently (based on sequence) and then matched to the closest HMM model. I hope you can get what I'm trying to ask as I know I am not fluent with this type of software. Any help/info about this would be greatly appreciated. Thank you!
