Hi Stephanie, kgXref is a table that has both the UCSC identifier and the gene symbol in it (available for download here: http://hgdownload.cse.ucsc.edu/goldenPath/hg19/database/kgXref.txt.gz). Please note that a gene symbol may be used for several isoforms of the same gene (the gene sorter only uses canonical gene listed in the knownCanonical table).
