Hi Dimitri, There are two places you might find the information you are interested in. First, when viewing your gene (e.g. uc010lux.1) on the Genome Browser, click on the gene in the browser view to view the details page for that gene. Scroll down the the very bottom (or click the Methods link in the Page Index table) and you'll see a section titled "Methods, Credits, and Use Restrictions ". Click the "here" link in that section. The resulting page has the details on how the track is built. The color coding described there should also be helpful.
You can also go to the table browser, select the assembly (etc), and choose the kgXref table. Use the paste list button to enter the gene(s) you want to show and click "get output". This table will show the name of the mRNA, the gene symbol, the ReSeq number, etc for the genes you entered. I hope that help. Please let me know if you have any additional questions. - Greg Roe UCSC Genome Browser On 12/3/10 9:26 AM, Dimitri Avramopoulos wrote: > Hello, > > I am trying to find the supporting material behind transcripts listed in > the UCSC gene track. > For the transcript I am interested in I can only get information through > the relevant "table" where it is listed as "uc010lux.1" but I cannot > find any supporting evidence for its existence (such as a GenBank > accession#).
