Hi Will,

Please check that all your track line attributes are one line only and that
there are no hidden carriage returns. If this does not resolve your problem,
could you please send the real link to your BAM file just to me? This way I
will be able to test if I am able to load it from here.

I hope this information is helpful. Please feel free to contact the
mail list again if you require further assistance.

Best,
Mary

Subject: [Genome] Custom Tracks Question - BAM

Hi,

I'm trying to upload a custom track using a .BAM &.BAM.BAI files generated by
the CASAVA program (illumina). I am hosting the files on a server and tried
inputting the commands

track type=bam name="BAM Example One" description="Please Work"
pairEndsByName=. pairSearchRange=500 chromosomes=chr2L bamColorMode=gray
maxWindowToDraw=200000 db=dm3 visibility=pack bigDataUrl=
ftp://spradlinglab:[email protected]/Will/sorted2LH.bam

and

track type=bam bigDataUrl=
ftp://spradlinglab:[email protected]/Will/sorted2LH.bam

I'm getting an error that says

Expecting 'track' line, got ‹ line 1 of
ftp://spradlinglab:[email protected]/Will/sorted2LH.bam

I didn't see anything about this sort of error in the FAQ & was wondering if
you knew what the problem might be.

Thanks!

Will Yarosh
