Good Morning Paul: In this case, you would like to download the original wiggle ascii files from: ftp://hgdownload.cse.ucsc.edu/goldenPath/hg19/phastCons46way/placentalMammals/ (or via rsync)
These files you can run through the wigToBigWig conversion tool to construct bigWig files. For some background on .wib files: http://genomewiki.ucsc.edu/index.php/Wiggle http://genomewiki.ucsc.edu/index.php/Selecting_a_graphing_track_data_format http://genomewiki.ucsc.edu/index.php/Using_hgWiggle_without_a_database --Hiram ----- Original Message ----- From: "Paul Igor Costea" <[email protected]> To: [email protected] Sent: Monday, January 17, 2011 2:59:39 AM Subject: [Genome] conservation data and wib format Hello, I'm trying to annotate some data with conservation information. For that purpose, i've downloaded the phastCons46wayPlacental.wib conservation track. Here's my dilemma thou: I haven't been able to locate any description of the .wib format, thus it's a bit hard to get to the info in there. Is there a way to convert this to bigWig maybe? (i know how to deal with those). I know that .wig to bigWig isn't a problem, but can i get wig out of wib? Any help would be greatly appreciated Regards, -Paul _______________________________________________ Genome maillist - [email protected] https://lists.soe.ucsc.edu/mailman/listinfo/genome
