Good Morning John:

To view the opsin gene locations in the genome browser, open
the genome browser page to view the Human sequence version
Feb. 2009 (GRCh37/hg19)

http://genome.ucsc.edu/cgi-bin/hgTracks?db=hg19

In the position/search entry box, enter: opsin
and press the "jump" button. Since there are a number
of opsin genes, you will see a list of them presented,
select the one you want to view.

To turn on the Neandertal reads/contigs and other information
from the Neandertal project, scroll the page down to the
section of control buttons labeled:
        Neandertal Assembly and Analysis
The "Neandertal Seq" control button is the sequence reads,
select visibility "pack" to turn on that track. You can adjust
the behavior of the tracks by clicking on the buttons to the left
of the graphic image display.

have further questions or require clarification feel free to contact the
