Dear Dr. Srebniak,

If you load a custom track and then save it as a session, that session with
it's custom tracks will be saved for 4 months after the session was last used.
We are working on our documentation to reflect this.

We also suggest that you use file types such as bigbed and bigwig which are
stored on your servers and can be easily reloaded as a custom track. Here is
the info on those file types:

http://genome.ucsc.edu/goldenPath/help/bigWig.html

I hope that this helps! If you have further questions, please contact the
mailing list ([email protected]) if you have further questions.

Subject: [Genome] sessions - custom tracks valid 72 hours?

Dear Madam or Sir,
I have a question on sessions.
We currently use sessions in UCSC which we find very convenient. The only
problem is that custom tracks are valid only 48 hours. Our question is:
can you make it valid for 72 hours. It will save much time on Monday -
when they always expire, because our laboratory do not work during the
weekends. If you could change it to 72 hours we could use the full session
from Friday again on Monday and further during the week. Now we have to
load everything again every Monday. I can imagine that we are not the only
ones with this problem.
I hope you could realize that request.
Yours faithfully,
Gosia Srebniak
