Hello Reza, Chain files are text files with the following format: http://genome.ucsc.edu/goldenPath/help/chain.html
You can open them with any text editor, but if you downloaded chain files from UCSC, then they will have been compressed using gzip. You will need to decompress them first. FASTA formatted files are also just text files, but may need to be decompressed. I hope this is helpful. If you have further questions, please email [email protected]. -- Brooke Rhead UCSC Genome Bioinformatics Group reza sodaie wrote on 6/26/11 10:12 AM: > excuse me > > I would like to know how I can open chain file for pairwise alignment of DNA > sequences? or showing chromosome in FA fromat? > > Thanks > _______________________________________________ > Genome maillist - [email protected] > https://lists.soe.ucsc.edu/mailman/listinfo/genome _______________________________________________ Genome maillist - [email protected] https://lists.soe.ucsc.edu/mailman/listinfo/genome
