Hi Kim,

I think what you're referring to as the "gene name" we call the "gene 
description", which is maybe why you couldn't find it. You can get the 
description from the kgXref table. In the table browser, for output 
format, select "selected fields from primary and related tables".

When you click get output you'll be take to a screen where you can add 
tables to your query under the Linked Tables list. Check off kgXref and 
click allow selection from checked tables (very bottom). Now you can 
select the description field from kgXref and submit your query.
